Fotballklubben Bodø/Glimt play their home games at Aspmyra stadion, and the club plays at the highest level in Norway. The Club’s academy was classified in the top-3 nationally last season, and Academy graduates continue do well both in the team and abroad. This year the team has averaged 26% of league minutes from academy graduates under the age of 23, and Jens Petter Hauge has been transferred to AC Milan.
Overall Job Description:
The role of Academy Medical Lead is fundamental to the long term vision of FK Bodø Glimt in developing the best young players from the North of Norway. They are responsible for the operational implementation of the Academy medical methodology, working under the Head of Medical and Academy Leader.
The Academy Medical Lead will manage and deliver the medical coverage for all teams within the academy G13-G19/B-Team. They will ensure that individual rehabilitation plans are devised, delivered and reviewed with the first team medical staff. Alongside this, they work with Strength & Conditioning staff on gym based rehabilitation and injury prevention sessions.
Required competence and qualifications:
It is essential that the applicant is a MSc idrettsfysioterapi, spesialist i idretts fysioterapi or autorisert idrettsfysioterapeut). It is desirable that they have the courses idrettsmedisinsk grunnkurs trinn 1 og 2. Evidence of relevant medical experience within an academy environment will also be required, as well as any other evidence of working with young elite athletes and creating/managing rehabilitation programmes.
